President's Message

The society name, i.e. Odantapuri, also called Odantapura or Uddandapura, was a Buddhist Mahavihara in what is now Bihar, India. The Pala Emperor Gopala established it in the 8th century. It is considered the second oldest of India's Mahaviharas after ancient Nalanda University and was situated in Magadha. Acharya Sri Ganga of Vikramshila was a student at this Mahavihara. According to the Tibetan records, there were about 12000 students at Odantapuri, which was situated at a mountain called Hiranya Prabhat Parvat & by the bank of the river Panchanan. In the modern era, it is situated in Bihar Sharif headquarters of Nalanda district of Bihar (India).

At Odantapuri Educational and Welfare Society, we aspire to provide higher education in all fields of study for students who otherwise could not afford it. And we strive to make donations to those who need them most. We also participate in various community service projects and other activities that help improve the lives of those around us.

We have a strong will to make our society better by providing higher education to students so that they can make their future bright by securing well-paying jobs for themselves. We are constantly working on new teaching and learning methods to improve our students' performance. We also provide various educational materials, such as books, charts, posters etc., to help them learn better and faster.

We believe that education should be an exciting and fun experience for students. We offer a wide range of programs to help them learn dynamically and engagingly. Our staff are committed to assisting students to succeed inside and outside the classroom. They encourage their students to participate in extracurricular activities such as sports teams, clubs and other interest groups so they have opportunities to develop their talents while developing valuable life skills like teamwork, leadership and communication.
